SPARC CAMPS camper registration is now open!  Please visit our website for more information and spread the word among family and friends. Keep this camp in mind for the summer 2017 as it is not too early to plan a great summer for your kids. Thanks for a great summer!

SPARC Day Camps:

  • Summer day camp program operating in July and August, bringing the message of Christ to children of the community and assisting families in offering quality care
  • Please visit the SPARC website for more information

Community:

Lorne Park Baptist church is involved in reaching out in the area where our church is located.
Specific ministries include:

  • The Compass: responds to the economic, emotional and spiritual needs of the Clarkson/ Lorne Park community in practical ways. Volunteers from 10 local churches offer a wide variety of programs and services.
  • Riverside School Breakfast Program: LPBC helps serve 60 breakfasts, 4 times a week, to children in this community. Many gracious volunteers give their time and also make lunches to help out the children. A good breakfast improves any child’s day.
  • Church Community Volunteers: Caring for the community through volunteers who can help drive people to appointments, care for the elderly and provide support.

Current Ways to Reach Out:
WE ARE IN NEED OF RIVERSIDE BREAKFAST VOLUNTEERS to fill in when regular volunteers are away or unavailable. Please contact Kathy Yu or Anya MacNeil if you are interested or would like more information.

OUR SPRING FOOD DRIVE FOR THE COMPASS
Our spring food drive for The Compass, our local food bank and outreach centre which our church supports, will be held during May and June. Because food donations decline over the summer, extra support is needed to maintain our food stocks.
This year you can donate in one of two ways:
1. Give a financial donation to Pinball Clemon’s ‘JUST GIVE’ campaign which is providing a portion of its donations directly to the Compass (donations are matched 100% by a private sponsor). Visit the website at www.justgive.ca and you can donate directly through the “Donate” heading.
2. You can bring food donations to the church and leave them in the food deposit box in the foyer of the church. Bags are available there for you to use.
ALL NON-PERISHABLE FOOD DONATIONS ARE WELCOME, but we particularly need:
 Tinned fruit
 Tinned stews, chili
 Chunky soups
 Tinned pasta with meat
 Pasta sauce
 Tinned meats, tuna, salmon, sardines
 Tinned vegetables
 Cookies
 Cereals
 Toilet paper
 Toiletries – toothpaste/brushes, deodorants, shampoo, soap, feminine products, Depends
HEALTHY FOOD OPTIONS ARE APPRECIATED
Thank you for your caring!
