Thanksgiving

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus,”
  (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

  • Give thanks for Wanda Ainsworth and Brenda Solomon, who have faithfully volunteered to assist with the monthly preparation for Communion. May God bless them for their willingness to serve and contribute to the life of our church family.
  • We give thanks for Knox Presbyterian Church and their generous hospitality toward Queen Street Baptist Church. We are grateful that they have opened their doors and are providing a welcoming space for weekly worship while repairs to the church building are underway.
  • We give thanks for a safe and refreshing summer for our children, youth, and young adults. We are grateful for the opportunities they have had to rest, grow, and enjoy time together, and we pray with them as they look forward to a new school year filled with learning, friendship, and new opportunities.
  • We give thanks to God for His faithful protection and care over all who travelled near and far throughout the summer. We are grateful for His watchful presence and for bringing our church family safely through their journeys.
  • Give thanks for God’s faithful provision for LPBC. We praise Him for the generosity, commitment, and faithfulness of our church family. May God continue to provide the people, resources, and opportunities needed for us to serve faithfully, care for one another, share the Gospel, and be a Christ-centred witness in our community.  🙏

Comfort

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God,”
(2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

For comfort, strength, and peace for Joe’s family, loved ones, and church family as they grieve this loss. May God surround them with His loving presence, carry them through the days ahead, and bring comfort through the cherished memories of Joe that will remain in their hearts.

Healing

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed,”   (Isaiah 53:5)

  • Tyler — Please continue to lift 16-year-old Tyler before the Lord as he faces a serious health challenge at McMaster Hospital. Pray that God would surround him with His presence, grant him healing, strength, and courage, and guide the medical team with wisdom and skill. May Tyler and his family experience God’s peace, comfort, and sustaining grace throughout this difficult time.
  • Sunil — Continue praying for Sunil, a friend of Natalie’s sister in Trinidad, as she undergoes treatment for Stage 3 cancer. Ask God to renew her strength each day, give her courage and perseverance, and guide her medical team in every decision. May Sunil and her loved ones be surrounded by God’s peace, comfort, and unfailing presence.
  • Kevin — Please continue to remember Kevin, Pier T.’s cousin in North Carolina, as he undergoes radiation and chemotherapy. Pray for renewed strength, endurance, and encouraging progress throughout his treatment. Ask God to guard his heart and mind from fear and discouragement and to sustain Kevin and his family with peace, hope, and strength for each day.
  • Shut-ins and Seniors — Let us continue to remember our shut-ins and seniors in prayer. Ask God to strengthen, encourage, and comfort them, reminding them that they are deeply valued and loved by our church family. Pray that visits, phone calls, and meaningful connections will bring companionship and joy, especially to those who may be experiencing loneliness or isolation.

Church

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,
not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but encouraging one another,”  (Hebrews 10:24–25)

  • Back-to-School Season — We lift up all students, parents, and teachers as they prepare to transition into the upcoming school year. Pray for wisdom and patience for parents, strength and inspiration for educators, and safety, focus, and good friendships for students. May this new academic year be filled with growth and peace for every family.
  • Children, Youth & Young Adults — Continue to pray for the children, youth, and young adults in our church family. Ask God to draw them closer to Jesus, strengthen their faith, and guide the decisions they make. Pray that they will find encouragement and belonging within the church, discover their gifts and purpose, and have the courage to live faithfully for Christ in their everyday lives.
  • Volunteers & Ministry Leaders — Give thanks for those who faithfully invest their time and gifts in serving our children, youth, and families. Pray that God will renew their strength, encourage them when ministry feels challenging, and give them wisdom, patience, and compassion. May their faithful service and example help shape the faith of the next generation.
  • Our Church Family — Pray that God would continue to draw us closer to Him and to one another. Ask the Holy Spirit to deepen our hunger for Scripture, strengthen our life of prayer, and help us grow in spiritual maturity. May we remain united in Christ and increasingly reflect His love, grace, and hope as we serve those around us.
  • Pray for the Choir as they prepare to lead us in worship this Sunday. Pray for joy and unity as they rehearse and serve, and for God to strengthen each member as they use their gifts. May their ministry point our hearts toward Christ, encourage our faith, and help our congregation worship with gratitude and renewed hope.

National & Global

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

  • Communities Affected by Natural Disasters — Let us remember the communities in Nepal and Tibet devastated by catastrophic flash flooding, with many lives lost, including 30 Canadians. Pray for comfort and strength for those grieving, and for timely and effective assistance to reach those whose homes and livelihoods have been affected. We also lift up the people of Colombia and Venezuela as they continue to recover from a major earthquake. May God bring healing, restoration, and hope to those facing loss and uncertainty.
  • Our Nation and Those Battling Wildfires — Pray for God’s protection over firefighters, emergency responders, and all those working tirelessly to contain wildfires across Canada. Remember the families who have been displaced from their homes, asking God to provide safe shelter, practical assistance, and peace as they face the challenges of rebuilding and finding stability.
  • Global Peace and Diplomacy — Pray for peace in regions experiencing conflict and unrest, especially for the people of Ukraine as they continue to endure ongoing attacks. Ask God to guide world leaders toward wisdom, humility, and peaceful solutions, including progress in diplomatic tensions between the United States and Iran and a constructive resolution to trade disagreements between Canada and the United States.
  • God’s Protection Over Our Families — Pray for God’s covering over our homes and families. May He guard our hearts and minds against the lies, distractions, and schemes that seek to draw us away from Him. Ask that our families remain firmly grounded in God’s Word, strengthened in faith, united in love, and guided by His truth and wisdom.

CBOQ Churches Prayer for Member Churches

  • Queen Street Baptist Church, St. Catharines — Please continue to pray for Queen Street Baptist Church as they work through the challenges caused by the recent flooding and fire damage to their building. Ask God to grant wisdom and clarity throughout the repair and restoration process, provide the skilled workers and resources needed, and remove any obstacles or unexpected delays. May He sustain and encourage the congregation as they look forward to gathering and worshipping together in their church home once again.
  • Middle East Baptist Church, Mississauga — Pray for Middle East Baptist Church as they seek a new location to support their growing congregation and ministry. Ask God to guide their search and lead them to a place that will meet their needs, provide the necessary resources, and create opportunities for continued growth and ministry. May He open the right doors in His perfect timing and give the church wisdom and unity throughout the process.
