Thanksgiving

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus,”
  (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

  • Pray for our Revitalization Team as they continue to seek God’s vision and direction for the future of LPBC. Pray for unity, wisdom, discernment, and courage, trusting the Holy Spirit to lead them in decisions that strengthen our church and advance its mission.
  • Give thanks for God’s faithful provision for LPBC. Praise God for the generosity and faithfulness of our church family. Pray that He will continue to provide the people, resources, and opportunities we need to serve faithfully, care for one another, share the Gospel, and be a Christ-centred witness in our community.  🙏

Healing

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed,”   (Isaiah 53:5)

  • Joe Larizza — Continue to pray for Joe as he waits for a liver transplant. Thank God for sustaining him and bringing him to this stage of his journey. Pray for a suitable donor, a successful transplant, and a smooth recovery. Ask God to give Joe and his family continued peace, patience, and hope, and to guide the medical team caring for him.
  • Sunil — Continue lifting Sunil, a friend of Natalie’s sister in Trinidad, before the Lord as she receives treatment for Stage 3 cancer. Pray for renewed strength, grace, and courage each day, as well as wisdom for her medical team. May God surround Sunil and her loved ones with His peace, comfort, and sustaining presence.
  • Kevin — Please continue praying for Kevin, Pier T.’s cousin in North Carolina, as he goes through radiation and chemotherapy. Pray for strength and endurance, encouraging progress, and protection from fear and discouragement. May God sustain Kevin physically and spiritually and give his family peace and hope throughout this journey.
  • Shut-ins and Seniors — Let us continue to remember our shut-ins and seniors, asking God to strengthen and encourage them and remind them of how deeply they are valued and loved by our church family. Pray that meaningful visits, phone calls, and connections will bring companionship, joy, and comfort, especially for those experiencing loneliness or isolation.
  • Dorothy — Continue to pray for Dorothy, Ruth M.’s friend, as she recovers from cancer. Give thanks for the progress God has already allowed and pray for continued healing, renewed strength, and hope in the days ahead. May Dorothy and those supporting her experience God’s peace, comfort, and loving presence.

Church

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,
not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but encouraging one another,”  (Hebrews 10:24–25)

  • Pray for Rachel Guevara as she begins her Humber College co-op placement with us this Fall. Ask God to guide her learning and growth, and pray that her time at LPBC will be meaningful and encouraging as she serves alongside us.
  • Children, Youth & Young Adults — Continue to pray for the children, youth, and young adults in our church family. Ask God to draw them closer to Jesus, strengthen their faith, and guide the decisions they make. Pray that they will find encouragement and belonging within the church, discover their gifts and purpose, and have the courage to live faithfully for Christ in their everyday lives.
  • Volunteers & Ministry Leaders — Give thanks for those who faithfully invest their time and gifts in serving our children, youth, and families. Pray that God will renew their strength, encourage them when ministry feels challenging, and give them wisdom, patience, and compassion. May their faithful service and example help shape the faith of the next generation.
  • Our Church Family — Pray that God would continue to draw us closer to Him and to one another. Ask the Holy Spirit to deepen our hunger for Scripture, strengthen our life of prayer, and help us grow in spiritual maturity. May we remain united in Christ and increasingly reflect His love, grace, and hope as we serve those around us.
  • Pray for the Worship Team as they prepare to lead us in worship this Sunday. Pray for joy and unity as they rehearse and serve, and for God to strengthen each member as they use their gifts. May their ministry point our hearts toward Christ, encourage our faith, and help our congregation worship with gratitude and renewed hope.

National & Global

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness”  (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

  • Canada’s Wildfires and Affected Communities — As wildfire season continues, let us remember communities across Canada that have been affected by fires and those working on the front lines. Pray for the safety and endurance of firefighters, emergency workers, and volunteers. Ask God to protect those at risk, comfort families facing evacuation or loss, and provide strength, resources, and hope for communities as they recover and rebuild.
  • Peace in the Middle East — Continue to pray for peace and stability throughout the Middle East. Ask God to give wisdom, humility, and courage to those in positions of leadership and to open pathways toward reconciliation. Pray especially for those living with fear, conflict, displacement, and loss—that God would protect the vulnerable, comfort the grieving, provide for those in need, and bring lasting peace where there is suffering.
  • God’s Transforming Work at LPBC — Pray that God would continue to renew and transform our church, our families, and our community. Ask the Holy Spirit to draw us closer to Christ, deepen our hunger for His Word, and unite us in love and purpose. Pray that God would help us recognize where He is leading and give us courage to respond faithfully, serving others with compassion and sharing the hope of the Gospel.

CBOQ Churches Prayer for Member Churches

Queen Street Baptist Church (St. Catharines)

Please continue to lift Queen Street Baptist Church in St. Catharines in prayer as they walk through the challenges caused by recent flooding and fire, which have left their church building unavailable for regular gatherings.

  • Pray for Rev. Julie Ann and the church leadership, asking God to give them strength, wisdom, and encouragement as they care for and guide the congregation through this season.
  • Pray for clear direction for the next steps, including finding suitable spaces for worship, ministry, and fellowship while their building remains unavailable.
  • Ask God to provide the financial resources, practical help, and emotional strength needed to meet the challenges ahead.
  • Above all, pray for unity, faith, and renewed hope among the congregation. May they continue to trust God’s faithfulness, knowing that He is present, providing, and working even in the midst of uncertainty.
