Thanksgiving

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus,”
  (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

  • Praise the Lord that Tricia was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday afternoon and is able to continue her recovery at home. She has a follow-up appointment today and remains encouraged, knowing that while the road to recovery may be long, there is light at the end of the tunnel. We give thanks for God’s faithfulness, His sustaining grace, and the progress He has already provided.
  • Praise God that Peter A. has been granted approval to remain in Canada and can now move forward with applying for Permanent Residency (PR). Pray for continued guidance and favour as he takes the next steps in the process.
  • Give thanks that Kenneth G. has been discharged from rehab and is able to continue his recovery journey at home. Pray for ongoing strength, healing, and encouragement in the days ahead.
  • Praise the Lord that Warren’s mother, Betty, has been discharged from the hospital and is now receiving care at home. Pray for comfort, renewed strength, and a smooth recovery in the care of her family and healthcare team.
  • We praise God for the commitment of the Revitalization Team as they faithfully seek His direction through prayer. We are thankful for their willingness to intercede on behalf of our church family and to pursue God’s vision for the future of our congregation.
  • We are grateful for God’s provision through the faithful stewardship and generous giving of our church family. May the Lord continue to supply all that is needed for the ministries of LPBC as we seek to serve Him and share the Gospel in our community and beyond.  🙏

Healing

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed,”   (Isaiah 53:5)

  • Pray for Joe L. as he is being considered for a liver transplant assessment during this critical time. Ask the Lord to guide every decision, provide wisdom to the medical team, and open the way for the best course of treatment.
  • Pray for Jeno M. as she continues her recovery after being discharged from the hospital. Ask the Lord to restore her strength, grant complete healing, and surround her with His peace and daily grace as she recuperates at home.
  • Pray for Rodney W. as he continues his recovery at home following surgery on July 6th. Give thanks for the care he has received and ask the Lord to grant him renewed strength, steady healing, and freedom from complications. May God’s peace and presence sustain and encourage Rodney throughout his recovery journey.
  • Continue to intercede for Kevin, Pier T.’s cousin in North Carolina. We praise God for His healing work in the past and now ask for His mercy once again as Kevin undergoes radiation and chemotherapy. Pray for relief from treatment side effects, renewed strength, divine healing, and wisdom for the healthcare professionals overseeing his care.
  • Remember our shut-ins and seniors who are dealing with ongoing health concerns. May the Lord minister to them with His healing touch, encourage their hearts, and uphold them with His daily grace and strength.
  • Lift up Dorothy, Ruth M.’s friend, as she continues her recovery from cancer. May she experience God’s peace, encouragement, and nearness, and may His sustaining presence guide her through every stage of her healing journey.

Church

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,
not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but encouraging one another,”  (Hebrews 10:24–25)

  • Pray that God would continue to stir hearts and transform lives through our KidZone, Youth, and Young Adult ministries. May young people discover the joy of following Jesus and be equipped to shine as witnesses for Christ in their schools, workplaces, and communities.
  • Give thanks for those who faithfully invest in the next generation through children’s, youth, and young adult ministries. Pray that God would renew their energy, deepen their faith, and encourage them as they serve with patience, creativity, and love.
  • Pray for our growing partnership with GlenOak Academy and for the upcoming Carnival on July 17. May this event strengthen community connections, open doors for meaningful conversations, and reflect the welcoming heart of Christ to families in our neighbourhood.
  • Lift up the GlenOak Academy Summer Camp as preparations continue and children gather throughout the summer. Pray for safety, joyful experiences, caring leaders, and opportunities for children and families to encounter God’s love in practical and lasting ways.
  • Continue to pray for Sunil, a friend of Natalie’s sister in Trinidad, as he receives treatment for Stage 3 cancer. Ask God to sustain him each day with strength and peace, to guide the medical team caring for him, and to surround him and his loved ones with hope and encouragement.
  • Pray for Jackie S. as she settles into her new seniors’ residence. May God bless her with supportive friendships, caring relationships, and a growing sense of peace and belonging in this new chapter of life.
  • Ask the Lord to deepen our desire for His Word and strengthen our commitment to prayer. May the Holy Spirit shape us into a church that listens attentively to God’s voice and reflects Christ faithfully in our community.
  • Remember Evelyn, our sponsored child, in your prayers. May God continue to watch over her, provide for her needs, encourage her studies, and help her grow in wisdom, confidence, and faith.
  • Pray for the Worship Team as they prepare to lead us this Sunday. May their service point hearts toward Christ, inspire authentic worship, and help our congregation respond to God’s goodness with joy and gratitude.

National & Global

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness”  (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

  • Pray for the people of Venezuela who are mourning the loss of loved ones in the aftermath of the earthquake. Ask the Lord to bring comfort to those who grieve, strength to those facing hardship, and hope to communities as they recover and rebuild. May God also grant wisdom and protection to the emergency responders, relief workers, and all who are providing care and assistance.
  • Continue to pray for peace and stability in the Middle East. Ask God to guide leaders involved in discussions and negotiations between Israel, Lebanon, Iran, the United States, and other nations. May pathways toward peace be pursued with wisdom, integrity, and a genuine desire to protect lives and promote the well-being of all people affected by conflict.
  • Pray for God’s protection over our families, churches, and communities. Ask the Lord to guard our hearts and minds against spiritual deception, strengthen us in faith, and help us stand firm in His truth as we seek to follow Christ faithfully each day.
